Artist Bio
I am a lover of art in all mediums, and currently working on abstract paintings using oil paint and cold wax medium. Previously, I designed and made jewelry using Precious Metal Clay, combining hand made pieces with Pearls, Turquoise and other gemstone beads and Sterling Silver.
I had been exploring painting and when Covid hit decided to start taking online courses, and joined Cold Wax Academy to learn more and practice my painting skills.
I decided to quit my jewelry business and devote myself to learning as much as I could about painting techniques.
Artist Statement
My love of color comes out in my Abstract paintings. I try not to have a plan . Just a color palette I want to work with.
I work in Oil paint and Cold Wax medium, using various tools and techniques, multiple layers of paint that can be scrapped back, scratched into, or removed using solvent. The painting I start with is never the painting I end up with.
Learning how to let go of areas of the painting to get to my final painting, was hard in the beginning, but it’s just part of my process now.
