Artist Bio

We are two youthful elders determined to prove we can continue to reinvent ourselves – sometimes in ways never imagined. We have lived our adult lives in our heads doing service as a family doctor and environmental lawyer. As our new dawn is rising however, we are discovering that we have only just begun to explore a deeper place of creativity, spirit and beauty. Mother Earth is providing us the materials, forms and colors and a pathway back to what is authentic for us both and a connection to what matters most.

Artist Statement

Working primarily with clay and wood, we draw inspiration from the natural world. Clay, one of humanity’s oldest creative companions, carries a timeless connection to making things that are beautiful, provoking, lasting and sometimes useful. We are fascinated by the dialogue between clay and wood, and by the unexpected forms that emerge when these materials come together.
Without formal training or rigid rules, we approach our work intuitively. Having spent our professional lives in analytical disciplines, we find freedom and meaning in a creative process guided by curiosity rather than certainty. Organic vessel forms often evolve into pieces that incorporate animal or human features, revealing the spirit of the work as it unfolds. We rarely know where a piece is headed—and that is part of the joy.
But if we are honest, the work is about something deeper than the finished piece. When our hands are in clay or moving along the grain of wood, the noise of the world falls away. We enter a state of flow — that rare, quiet place where time pauses and only the work exists. In a world that often feels fragmented and overwhelming, this access to stillness has become as essential to us as the art itself. The studio is our sanctuary- and perhaps the best medicine yet…
