Artist Bio
I am new to art and painting. I would say that I am self taught but that would exclude a few talented watercolorists as teachers and a great deal of art books about watercolor. Up until 4 years ago, healthcare was my focus. Retirement opened the doors to learning to paint what my world feels like in my soul.
Artist Statement
The mountains and the rivers give me joy each day. I spent most of my life in Alaska in healthcare. Art was never a part of that world. The surrounding beauty of this area, adventures living in Alaska for 37 years, and travel to unusual places across the world gives me inspiration to paint the world as it feels in my heart and soul. Watercolor is my passion because you don’t control it. You have to be free with its ways and see what happens.
